Realvibez Launches the First Web Distribution Service for Caribbean Music Videos

Realvibez Media, owner and operator of Realvibez.com, a leading online provider of media for consumers of Caribbean music culture, recently launched a new service, Web Distribution.

The new service allows Artists and Record Labels that want to expose their videos to a wide audience via the top video sharing websites to outsource the digitizing, uploading and tracking to Realvibez Media.

A number of artists have already taken advantage of the service, including T.O.K. using it to promote their new single Represent, Sean Paul, to promote his new video for Watch Dem Roll, Ky-mani Marley, to promote his video One Time, To-Isis, Cezar and Ce'Cile.

"Artists generally don't have the time or team to upload their videos to all these video sharing sites much less promote the videos or track the views they are generating," said Robert Mullings, COO of Realvibez Media.

Realvibez Media is able to upload a music video to all the top video-sharing websites, including AOL Video. Videos are also automatically added to Realvibez.com and can be featured on the front page of some partners. Realvibez recently got Sean Paul's video for 'Watch Dem Roll' featured on the front page of Imeem.com, a US social networking site with 16 million users.

"Massively distributed media is the future and we intend to make sure that this service is available to the Caribbean music industry," said David Mullings, CEO of Realvibez Media. "Instead of having to rely on MTV and BET to promote music videos, we have put the power in the hands of the artists and the labels, which can only benefit our music industry positively."

More information about the service is available at www.realvibezmedia.com For pricing information, contact Realvibez Media.

Realvibez Media is dedicated to expanding its digital presence in order to deliver content to consumers of Caribbean music culture around the world. Realvibez has secured strategic partnerships in the last month that are firsts for the industry and those will be announced in the near future.

Sean Paul - Watch Dem Roll music video

Sean Paul recently released the music video for Watch Dem Roll, the first single off his next album titled A New Age.

Watch Dem Roll, was shot on location at Siren Studios in Los Angeles CA late last month. Steve Wilson from Mystic Urchin, Sean Paul's Road Manager, was interviewed about his experience at the shoot -"It's a viral video…its mainly going to be marketed through underground and unusual video outlets, we’re not necessarily aiming for the BET or the MTV at first but more for the grass-roots outlets on the internet mostly YouTube and Myspace at first and then building from there, where people like the video so much that it will demand air-play."

Watch Dem Roll directed by Rich Newey/Jessy Terrero, stands out as a black and white video that features Sean Paul and appearances by Jason (Jigzag) and high energy, free-style dancing by sexy female dancers.

Open call auditions for dancers where held in L.A., Tanisha Scott choreographer, directed the selection process for the dancers “she weeded it down to 11 of the best girls, with the most unusual but interesting dance styles” said Steve. The final assessment of the dancers was done by Sean Paul, Jason (Jigzag) and Steve, resulting in only four dancers to appear in the video.

Each dancer was encouraged to do her own moves to the music “so there was some crumping, a little bit of Irish dancing, some African, some hip-hop and Tanisha brought that Jamaican element to it." explained Steve.

Sean Paul is currently working on his new album to be released in the first quarter of 2008. The track Watch Dem Roll was produced by Steven McGregor, the new album features mostly rhythms from various Jamaican producers like Steven McGregor, Don Corleon, Christopher Birch, Leftside, Jeremy Harding, among others. Sean is also producing two of his own rhythms for the first time with his brother Jason (Jigzag) so look out for those tacks to hit the air waves.

In case you missed it: Alica Keys giving Reggae prime time exposure

If you didn't catch Alicia Keys' performance of No One during the broadcast of the American Music Awards, check out the clip below (it will probably be taken down soon though).

Some people doubt just how big Reggae music is and she gave a clear answer. It was also great to watch Alicia Keys doing dances like the bogle.

Bebo.com makes Realvibez the first Caribbean music channel

Bebo.com, one of the top social networking sites, especially in the U.K., recently began approving various Media Partners and Realvibez.com has been approved as one of these.

We now have a channel, the first for Caribbean music (Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, etc.) on Bebo and you can check it out right here.

As a Media Partner, our channel is in such great company as Yahoo Music, MTV UK, Spike TV, CBS and the BBC. This is certainly a move in the right direction and a great example of fragmentation and massively distributed media.

When I spoke at the Caribbean Media Conference and Expo, I focused on the need to go to where users are - a Push Strategy - and Bebo allows us to do that in a way that no Caribbean brand has done to date (but many will soon follow).

I like to blaze trails so let's see where this takes us. We have more big announcements coming but we are saving the best for after Thanksgiving :-)

p.s. I especially like this screenshot because you see our channel right next to Yahoo Music's channel icon.

Barbee and Beenie Man shoot new video

"I'm excited about the outcome of the video because it shows a different side of me compared to the first video entitled 'Missing You' feat. Junior Kelly. My family, friends and the Dollets were involved and it's a colorful, sexy, yet playful video. I find this song to be one of my favorites 'cause it promotes females to be confident and the beat shows both sides of my culture Jamaican and Nigerian," was Barbee's excited comment on her recent video shoot with Beenie Man.

The sultry singer who has just wrapped up the video shoot which was shot on location in Forest Park, Queens, New York under the direction of Scenario and Scuba (who has directed videos for the likes of 50 Cent and Fabulous) is very happy with it all.

According to Barbee the video will definitely be something to see and she can't wait until it is premiered in about two weeks time.

The Paddy Cake/Diva In My Sneaker high budget music video was shot on film making it a cut above most of the other music videos. It also features Acid Ladies from the Bronx and six-year-old Grenadian choreographer Hanan. In addition, there were cameos from the members of G Unit and Sporty Thieves camp.

The treatment was done by Paris Reid.

Beenie Man apologises to JLP government

International dancehall recording superstar, Moses 'Beenie Man' Davis has offered his humble apology to the Jamaica Labour Party for recent comments made, after his alleged tax evasion case on Monday, October 29.

The apology came after Beenie Man was asked by someone in court, not knowing the person was a reporter, if he thought he was being targeted because of his political affiliation. The dancehall artiste – without giving it proper thought - immediately responded, saying that he believed he was in fact being targeted, and that it is being strongly said around the music circles.

Jamaica Labour Party General Secretary Karl Samuda sent out a press release dismissing the allegation as "misguided, mischievous and absurd."

In a statement issued through Davis' publicist Ray Alexander of Khool International, on Wednesday, October 31, Beenie Man apologetically said, "After deep reflection and investigation it has come to my attention that the information and the sources around me were not credible and that my statements were grossly inaccurate.

My sources were misinformed and trying to make this issue seem political when it clearly isn't because this matter has been in front of the court from as early as April of this year, but apparently the documentations were submitted to my past management and not forwarded directly to me.

I have absolutely no bias towards the JLP government and wouldn't intentionally try to create any animosity but it is a normal human reaction if somebody tells you that somebody is fighting you to try and defend yourself.

Again I am very sorry and it was irresponsible to act on impulse before verifying that the information was truthful."
