Search added

We are glad to announce that we have added a search box to the website. using Google Customized Search it is even easier to find videos on the site and we hope that this makes the experience even better.

As time goes on, we will unveil a more robust search engine but that takes development time and we wanted to get something decent out right now that can help the user experience.

More stuff in the pipeline so stay tuned.

Reggae Dancehall Group T.O.K. Signs Merchandise Deal With Realvibez.com

T.O.K., a chart-topping Reggae Dancehall group signs a merchandise deal with Realvibez.com, a leading online provider of media for consumers of Caribbean music culture. Very few Reggae artists have merchandise deals, generally only making money from performances and dub plates (special cuts of a record). Sean Kingston is not a "Reggae Act"

I must say that we were quite disappointed with the MOBO Awards this year (more than other years) because they dared to award Sean Kingston Best Reggae Act.

Clearly the organizers or nominating committee don't have a clue what Reggae is. Sean Kingston is a pop act mixed with hip-hop. Just because he has Jamaican roots and featured two Jamaican DJs on a remix of a song doesn't mean he is a "Reggae Act".

All the more reason why we need to have our own Awards events and continue to educate people about what is Reggae and what isn't. I don't know a single person who would ever classify Sean Kingston as "Reggae".

What to expect in October?

We have finally gotten around to capturing much of our classic content and have also started to upload newer videos - but it takes time to upload all the videos.

Tomorrow we will unveil a new section on the front page - Videos Added This Week. This will make it extremely easy to check out the newest videos added to the website. The link will be directly below the featured video on the front page (above the playlist).

Radio/Music

Coppershot Disco, one of the top sound systems in Jamaica, and DJ Narity have agreed to provide mixes of new dancehall and reggae riddims for the site. We are awaiting the first mixes to relaunch the music section. We will also feature recently released albums, namely from VP Records.

We are hard at work editing content to upload to the website for your viewing pleasure so keep checking back.
