Tight pants in Dancehall
This topic is so old in Jamaica. We have had so many artists "bunning" out tight pants for so long, even while they themselves wore the pants on stage. One of the local papers in Jamaica, the Jamaica Gleaner, ran a story on the issue recently:
Tight Pants Chafe 'Real' Dancers
As a Jamaican, I find it weird to see men wearing pants as tight as what women wear, especially because it is bad for reproduction (the same reason why tight briefs are bad - they result in lower sperm production). I guess enough people don't know this (I do have a B. Sc. in Biology).
But even from a social standpoint, why? Are you trying to show off your package to women? Or your butt? I certainly don't want to see your package when you are on-stage though or in public.
Some will bring up the whole 'homophobia' argument - which by the way is a misnomer because no one in Jamaica is AFRAID of gay people - but men should look like men and women should look like women. There is nothing wrong with ANY society that expects something as straightforward as that (hence why Jamaicans don't tolerate for drag queens either).
